Free tickets
Occasionally, the MFRC receives a donation of tickets to attend local events such as movie premieres, Flames and Stampeders games, and live theatre performances. When we receive such a donation, we send an email to our distribution list to invite community members to enter their name in a free draw for the tickets.
These tickets are donated by the following organizations:
- Kids Up Front , is dedicated to providing children with the opportunity to attend cultural and athletic events. Their stipulation for donating tickets to the MFRC is that they are given to families who will bring their children to the event.
- Interact Entertainment donates tickets to attend movie premieres. There are no rules attached to their donation, and they can be donated to anyone in our military community (regardless of whether or not you are a parent).
If you would like to be placed on our distribution list to receive notice of our ticket donations, please send us an email and specify if you want to be on our Kids Up Front list, Interact Entertainment list, or both.
Please note:
- These tickets are intended for members of our community. We define our community as the following: Civilian DND employees, all currently serving members of the Canadian Forces (both Reservist and Regular Force).
- To the best of its ability, the MFRC will give these tickets away in a transparent and equitable manner.
- These tickets are not for resale and are intended for the members of our community. If you cannot use these tickets, please notify the MFRC as soon as possible.
- The MFRC will give away any tickets that are not spoken for, after 1:00 pm of the last working day before the event.
Military Discounts
The following establishments offer discounts to military members (Reservists and Reg Force), and in some cases to their families. In order for a CF family member (spouse and dependent youth ages 13 to 18) to receive a discount, they will require a Military Family Identification Card.
